I remember finding a GG Allin VHS tape for cheap at some record shop when I was living in Boston during my first year of college. This was back in 1999 or so…. Before that I had the albums “Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies” & “Banned In Boston” but that video scared the shit out of me. Turkey baster beer enemas, self mutilation, shoving shit up his ass, bashing the microphone against his forehead until he was a bloody mess, It was full on and unlike anything I had ever seen before. One viewing was enough for me though and I gave that video to a friend of mine. The other day I stumbled upon some tracks from “Carnival of Excess” for the first time. I am digging this “Carmelita” cover.
Yes!!!! A new video/song from Noi!se. Can’t wait to hear the new album.
11 days until we move out of this apartment and I have been throwing out a ton of old stuff. Mostly clothes and furniture. It’s time to say goodbye to this Forced Reality shirt I bought way back in 1997. I still remember when I bought this and made the hour and a half drive to Albany, N.Y. to see them play with The Business.
Violent Soho “Dumb Machine” from the album “We Don’t Belong Here”
A friend sent me the “Covered In Chrome” video this morning. My first thought was “what a terrible band name” but I checked out a few tracks by this band and I’m into it. You must be doing something right if Thurston Moore wanders into a club your band is playing at and then offers you a record deal.
